Under section 19 of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (NSW)
'A person conducting a business or undertaking must ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable... health and safety.'
This duty is toward workers and any others that may be affected by what is planned to be undertaken. It applies to the working environment including plant and substances. 'Safe systems of work' including 'adequate facilities for the welfare at work of workers' and 'the provision of any information, training, instruction or supervision that is necessary to protect all persons from risks' is the responsibility of the principle.
This duty cannot be transferred to any other. However SCF can advise as to what is 'reasonably practicable' in relation to your undertaking. Third party objective analysis of risk and subsequent reasonable recommendations, demonstrates compliance to this non-prescriptive performance based law.
SCF understands the intention of the law and can help demonstrate your compliance by recordings what you already do or make sensible recommendations that suits your project.
Who Are We?
Karl Christian MBL
Karl Christian is the principal of SCF. He has a passion for safety and is committed to making risk management and safety an obtainable and sustainable goal for all enterprises. Karl is highly experienced in the areas of film and events having worked in these industries for 15 years. The logistics and risks of managing a project in a public area is his speciality.
Previous to this Karl has had 20 years experience in retail including 3 years as manager of David Jones Food Hall. Here he was responsible for the Occupational, Health and Safety of over 100 staff working in several potentially hazardous situations, the health and hygiene regulations pertaining to fresh foods and the monetary consideration of food spoilage.
While being a specialist in film and events, Karl’s management experience and qualifications gives him the interviewing and investigative and research skills required to competently write risk management documents for a variety of industries.
